Crafting immersive visuals and engaging worlds

Creating immersive worlds in illustration requires thinking beyond the single image. Every character, environment, and color choice contributes to a unified visual language that draws the viewer in and keeps them there.

In this series of works, I developed a consistent palette rooted in muted, earthy tones with occasional bursts of warm color. This approach gives the illustrations a timeless, storybook quality while still feeling fresh and contemporary.

The Schmincke collaboration gave me the opportunity to push my craft further — experimenting with granulating colors, wet-on-wet techniques, and loose gestural marks that contrast beautifully with precise linework.
